Notice Regarding Dues Increase
Effective starting with dues for August 2014 (withheld from paychecks at the end of July), the following dues increases will take effect:
National Division dues will be increased as follows: Engineer dues increase $2.32 (from $27.68 to $30.00) Trainmen dues increase 70¢ (from $12.30 to $13.00) Student engineers increase $1.60 (from $16.40 to $18.00) These increases are in accordance with National Division Rules, §29(m), which indexes ND dues to the national freight agreement. The recently ratified national agreement resulted in an 8.5% wage increase effective July 1, 2007. Dues have therefore been increased by 8.5%, rounded to the nearest dollar. Additionally, the Amtrak General Committee of Adjustment has increased dues for all GCA members by 12¢ (from $33.91 to $34.03) as a result of the Amtrak general wage increase (GWI) effective July 1, 2014. These increases are in accordance with the GCA By-Laws, §XI.A.2.
Itemization of Dues

The student (sub-standard) rate is for all BLET members whose names appear on the engineers seniority roster but who are employed at less than the standard hourly wage level. [BLET Bylaws, National Division Rule § 29(d)] The BLET Division 20 local dues increase was approved at the May 15, 2013 membership meeting.
